My Story
Hey, I’m Nicola.
My fitness journey started several years ago when my mental health was at an all-time low and I needed to do something about it. I reluctantly joined a gym with a friend and before long started to notice a difference in my mindset. Not only did I feel physically fitter, but I also felt so much happier. I very quickly fell in love with this new confidence and self-esteem and that kept me going back to the gym week after week, year after year.
After listening to my body and what it needed, I began to truly understand what I was capable of. When I started showing my mind and my body the respect it deserves, I went from strength to strength, both mentally and physically. I remember the moment I looked in the mirror and genuinely liked what I saw for the first time. It was in that moment that I knew my mindset had shifted once and for all, and a lifelong love for exercise was born.
Although my first few years in the gym were great, I now realise that I could have progressed much quicker if I had a coach. Having someone there to teach me how to lift properly, encourage me to push myself harder and to hold me accountable would have been invaluable to my training progress.
This is when I decided to study to become a personal trainer. I became fascinated with the human body and wanted to learn all about how to achieve certain results and how to nourish it properly. But what I wanted more than anything was to help other people who are struggling mentally to move their bodies and use exercise to improve their outlook on life.
