Things that are killing your glute gains.
Constantly dieting
To ‘grow’ you need to consume in a calorie surplus for a period of time. Lowering your calories every week and always being in a deficit will not grow any area of your body. Fuel your body with high quality foods, good protein sources and eat in a surplus for a period of time.
Skipping Rest days and only training legs
Your body cannot recover if you don’t give it time, you will see a drop in the weights you can lift and the body becoming fatigued alot faster. Appropriate rest days are just as important as your training.
Not getting enough sleep
Recovery is key, your body needs enough sleep to recover from the workouts you are doing, the personal bests you are hitting and everyday life. Sleep is always key, no matter what your goal is.
Program hopping
You don’t need to ‘shock’ the muscles every week, the basics always come out on top. Have a set program, specific to your goals, so you know you’re doing the correct movements. Nail the execution on these movements, repeat and excel.
Just going through the motions
Intensity is key, push yourself, listen to your body and do more. Do 1% extra everyday, and you will see the changes. Don’t settle for the same every session.
Thinking more is better
You don’t need thousands of different booty band exercises, keep things simple, and execute them perfectly. Lifting 3-4 times per week is more than enough, over training will kill your gains. Choosing cardio over weights Prioritising cardio over weights is not going to ‘grow’ the muscles you want, you need to lift weights and its best to use cardio as a small warm up before your weight session. Doing kickbacks, leg lifts etc on the stair master will not build your glutes or even warm them up. It is a waste of time.
Worrying about the scales going up
Fact is the scales will go up, but this should not dictate your commitment to the glute growth. Muscle does make the scales go up, but muscle does not weigh more than fat. If this is a genuine concern for you, don’t weigh yourself. Use photos and measurements to track your progress.
Not being consistent
Lack of consistency will kill all goals, especially when it comes to muscle growth. You need to execute and repeat.
Being impatient
This takes time, you will not have the booty of your dreams in a few months. It takes years. Scale your expectation to this.
When wanting to grow your booty you need to eat to grow, this can certainly be uncomfortable but it’s necessary. To achieve optimal results follow a structured plan and try to avoid these points above. And you’ll be on the way to achieving the dump truck of your dreams
